Certificate III in Media (Film Production) part-time
Commence: throughout the year, next intake 18 June 2010

This unique entry-level course provides people with a first step into the film and screen production industries.

You can apply to undertake this course as a filmmaker (telling stories), or specialise in one of the many production roles that go into making any film.

This one-of-a-kind training program offers the flexibility to design your own individual training program and create a plan which suits your individual needs, experience, career interests and time commitments.

Get practical skills across a whole range of film-making disciplines, or specialise in specific disciplines such as directing, camera, sound, lighting, writing, editing, art department or production.

Create your first film. Work as part of the crew on actual film productions. The choice is yours.

Certificate III in Media (Documentary)
Commence: March 2, 2011
Complete: June 2, 2011
Contact hours: 288 hours (approximately 24 hours per week over 14 weeks full time)
Places: 8 maximum
Fee: $5,000 up front, Austudy Eligible

During this 12 week course, make your own short 5 minute Documentary for festival competition, and for broadcast on C31.

Certificate III in Media - Documentary Production comprises intensive, hands-on training with a focus on the documentary genre. Aimed at entry-level practitioners, the program introduces students to industry standards while encouraging practical learning experiences.

This course is a fixed package version of the flexible Certificate III in Media which provides a group learning experience, and as a full time study option, access to Austudy eligibility.

You will have ongoing access to Open Channel equipment and facilities over the 12 week study period to make your short film and enhance your learning experience.

Complete: Dec 1, 2010
Contact hours: 288 hours (approximately 24 hours per week over 14 weeks full time)
Places: 12 maximum
Fee: $5,000 up front, Austudy Eligible
Closing date for application: Aug 1, 2010

In this 12 week course, you will develop and produce a television series for broadcast on Melbourne’s Community Broadcaster C31.

The last series made by students reached an average of 35,000 viewers per week, and this audience is only set to grow with the announcement that C31 will be going digital in 2010.
