Filmmakers - become an actor for a day, and become a better filmmaker!
Designed primarily for filmmakers, this workshop takes you into the mind of the actor by learning the basics of their craft, which will improve your ability to communicate with actors and obtain a great performance. Learn about the process of casting and auditions, rehearsals, and working on set as an actor, attempt some of the tools of the actor including improvisation, method, look at scripts from an actors perspective including subtext, developing a character etc. In the afternoon, you will get to work alongside experienced screen actors.
Prerequisites: some filmmaking knowledge an advantage
Who should do this course?
Anyone wishing to act for camera, or wanting to better understand from a filmmaker perspective how to work with cast.
Where can I go after this course?
Graduates may continue to produce films, or seek further training as a performer for film and video. Combine this course with other Directing courses and up-front payment of fees for a discount.
