Do you want to work faster, more efficiently and more professionally with Final Cut Pro? This intensive workshop builds on your existing skills.
There are a maximum of FOUR participants to ensure you receive optimal support and instruction from an experienced Editor.
Participants will learn how to:
- speed and enhance workflow
- use filters and keyframes
- use composite modes
- colour and image correct
- use batch lists
- compress, restore, backup and archive projects
- problem solving, minimising bugs, crashes and other annoying things
High degree of difficulty involved, but taught by an experienced tutor with a small class size to make sure you get the learning you expect. Please bring your own portable pen drive so you can save your project and take it home.
Prerequisites: FCP knowledge essential.
Who should do this course?
This course is designed for people with editing experience wanting to learn the advanced features of Final Cut Pro.
Where can I go after this course?
Graduates will be able to edit and manage their own projects to completion or provide advanced editing assistance. Open Channel also offers courses to develop complementary post-production skills, such as colour grading (with Final Cut Pro and Color).

TUTOR
NICK MOORE
Nick has been editing for over fifteen years. He was an early adopter of Final Cut Pro, using it since its first release and teaching it to professional editors from the beginning. He is a much sought-after editor, cutting TVCs, documentaries, drama, music videos and new media. Nick is also an award-winning short film maker and was a programmer for the Melbourne International Film Festival.
PAST TUTOR
RICHARD GREENHALGH
Richard graduated from film school in 1991 and began his career in educational video in South Africa. He worked for many years as an editor/ producer for short films both there and in London. When Richard moved to Australia in 2002, he continued to develop his career editing music video clips, short films and corporate and educational videos. Richard uses and teaches a range of computer-based edit systems including AVID Xpress, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier. He is also a dab hand at DVD Studio Pro, Motion, Soundtrack and Adobe Photoshop. In 2007, Richard was awarded Best Editor (Short Film) by the Australian Screen Editors Guild.
