Prerequisites: Computer literacy recommended. Students are encouraged to supply their own digital video camera (with microphone and headphone input and ability to attach a tripod base plate). Otherwise students will have shared access to Open Channel cameras.
Please bring your own portable pen drive so you can save your project and take it home.

OLIVIA PENISTON-BIRD
As a Melbourne based filmmaker, Olivia has been directing short drama, documentary, TVCs and online films. Her film Goggles was a Tropfest finalist, and her short drama Stony Point screened at the 2012 Melbourne International Film Festival where she attended their selective Accelerator program. Prior to returning to Melbourne Olivia was a London based Assistant Director, working on films in the UK, Europe and Central America with leading UK directors including Jonathon Glazer (Sexy Beast) Roger Michell (Enduring Love) and Pawel Pawlikowski (My Summer of Love). Olivia has recently returned from the 2012 Australian International Documentary Festival where her film Calisthenics: A Love Story (in development) was featured in their MeetMarket program.

REBECCA MCLEAN
Rebecca has worked in the Film and Television Industry for over 25 years directing and producing short films, documentaries and countless hours of magazine television both as a director and producer. She has worked on some of ABC TV's most successful factual programs such as George Negus Tonight and The Einstein Factor; as well as Missing Persons Unit (Channel Nine) and Bread TV (Ten Network). She has also lived in Central Australia working for several Aboriginal Media Organisations such as PY Media, CAAMA and Warlpiri Media. She is now Producing and Directing behind the scenes documentaries about the film industry: last year she filmed on the set of Wog Boy 2 The Kings of Mykonos with Vince Colosimo and Nick Giannopoulos. She is currently filming on the set of Fred Schepisi's new film The Eye of the Storm starring Judy Davis and Geoffrey Rush and Charlotte Rampling.
