Taught by leading screen practitioners, this six-week program is designed for screen practitioners in the process of creating a script for a longform dramatic program designed for theatrical release or broadcast television distribution. The program combines class time with an online learning component and provides core skills needed for creative development of your project.
Participants learn how to understand the audience for a film or series and how to connect the project with that audience.
Learn how to:
- Conduct audience testing
- Capturing audiences
- Develop a marketing strategy and advertising campaign
This course includes ongoing script development sessions alongside the more theoretical sessions to help develop the script to identify and respond to its identified target audience. The group study is delivered as a series of collaborative workshops where you will receive feedback from the facilitator and your classmates.
Successful completion of the course can provide credit toward our full development-focused qualification program.

Writers, Producers or Directors wishing to develop a greater understanding of the business aspects of screen production.
Where can I go after this course?
Graduates will develop the skills and knowledge required to develop a longform screen project as an independent script reader or script editor or as a member of a creative team.
