Prerequisites:	Applicants must have completed a Certificate III in Screen qualification or have equivalent industry or related experience. Must be a current Open Channel member - join Open Channel here

Taught by leading screen practitioners, this six-week program is designed for screen practitioners in the process of creating a script for a longform dramatic program designed for theatrical release or broadcast television distribution. The program combines class time with an online learning component and provides core skills needed for creative development of your project.

Participants learn how to understand the audience for a film or series and how to connect the project with that audience.

Learn how to:

• Conduct audience testing
• Capturing audiences
• Develop a marketing strategy and advertising campaign

This course includes ongoing script development sessions alongside the more theoretical sessions to help develop the script to identify and respond to its identified target audience. The group study is delivered as a series of collaborative workshops where you will receive feedback from the facilitator and your classmates.

Successful completion of the course can provide credit toward our full development-focused qualification program.
