LOVE YOUR WORK! 2005

Open Channel holds a twice yearly short film screening event called LOVE YOUR WORK!

This event showcases the work of Open Channel members and treats the audiences to a wonderful selection of short dramas, comedies, documentaries, animations, music clips and experimental films created by Victoria's new, emerging and independent filmmakers.

The LOVE YOUR WORK! event is held at mid-year and at the end of each year. This is a fun and friendly event where we celebrate the creative work of our talented members and give recognition to outstanding works for the year through the LOVE YOUR WORK! Audience Choice Awards.

LOVE YOUR WORK! screens a diverse and interesting ninety minute screening program including short films in a range of styles and genres. It provides a forum where the audience can see short films produced by filmmakers with a varying levels of experience, from new filmmakers to experienced independent filmmakers.

The LOVE YOUR WORK! event commenced in 2001 and since then has grown in popularity to become a significant event on the independent film industry calendar. The LOVE YOUR WORK! audience have the opportunity to participate in the event by voting for their favourite five films.

The outcome of the audience voting decides the winners of the Audience Choice Awards. The audience also has the chance to win plenty of door prizes at the event.

Through partnerships with a range of film industry businesses, Open Channel's LOVE YOUR WORK! screenings offer filmmakers the chance to benefit from a range of prizes which provide equipment access or practical resources aimed to assist them with their future filmmaking projects. LOVE YOUR WORK! entrants have the chance to win post-production services, filmmaking gear, free equipment hire, film mags and resources or a year's worth of free cinema passes.
