Production SupportShort & Sharp Pitching Competitionin association with the Human Rights Arts & Film Festival (HRAFF)DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES EXTENDED TO FRIDAY 9 MAY!Filmmakers now have an extra week to send in their pitch for OPEN CHANNEL's Short & Sharp Pitching Competition! Now in its 8th year, the Short & Sharp Pitching Competition is presented in association with the Human Rights Arts & Film Festival, and proudly supported by Film Victoria. Aimed at new, emerging and early career filmmakers, the Short & Sharp Pitching Competition invites entrants to submit an idea for a short film with a human rights theme. Eight finalists will be selected to present their pitch before an audience and judging panel at the Short & Sharp Pitching Competition on Wednesday 4 June at ACMI. The winner will have the opportunity realise their dream and make their film! They'll receive access to OPEN CHANNEL equipment & facilities to the value of $5,000 and mentoring with an experienced Supervising Producer, to assist with completion of their film project within a five-month period for screening at the Human Rights Film Festival in December. The pitch proposal must comply with the following guidelines: - The pitch can be for SHORT FILM of any genre (comedy, drama, documentary, experimental) or a PILOT for a longer project Eight finalists will be selected by OPEN CHANNEL's Executive Producer and an HRAFF representative. Finalists must be available to participate in a Pitching Workshop on Wednesday evening 21 May at OPEN CHANNEL, Docklands. The winner will be selected by a panel of industry professionals at the Entry deadline has been extended to 5pm on Friday 9 May 2008.
