Dee has made films all over the globe – from the Masai Mara in Kenya (“Running Wild”, Brooke Shields, Martin Sheen)to Downtown Los Angeles (“The Double-O-Kid”, Cory Haim, Bridget Nielson), to the jungles of Sri Lanka (“The Second Jungle Book” (TRISTAR COLUMBIA, Roddy McDowall). Born in South Africa, she began her career in documentaries (e.g. “Silent Hunter” – winner of a Gold Award at the NY Film Festival) and her television company, Moving Pictures, produced over 50 programs of drama and documentaries for the broadcaster in South Africa. She has directed seven features, and after immigrating to Australia, made “The Jammed” (as writer, producer, director), hailed by
Australia’s leading critics and the likes of David Stratton as “The Best Australian film of 2007”, received 7 AFI nominations (2008) and winning Best Film and Best Screenplay at the Inside Film 2007 IF Awards. She has also directed Australian television (“Wentworth”, episodes in series 2, 2013).
