Chris Kamen has 10 years experience as a producer across TV, advertising, music videos, short film and documentary. He has produced three feature length, micro-budget, crowdfunded documentaries – all of which have been distributed online directly to audiences.
His first foray into the genre was in 2012 on Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (deepblueseafilm.com), a film that offered a sorely needed humanitarian perspective on the highly politicised Australian asylum seeker issue. In 2014 Chris released music documentary about Grammy award winning Americana icon Jim Lauderdale: The King of Broken Hearts (jimlauderdalemovie.com). In 2015, Small is Beautiful, a documentary about the tiny house movement is Chris’ most recent project to be released via a direct-to-audience strategy (smallbeautifulmovie.com).
